Hear ‘Cross Off,’ Lamb of God Guitarist Mark Morton’s New Song Featuring the Late Chester Bennington

After leaking a few weeks early and being taken down from the internet, it’s here: “Cross Off,” the new track from Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton featuring guest vocals from former Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington.

The song, featured on Morton’s upcoming solo album Anesthetic, features the first new recording from Bennington to emerge after his tragic death in July 2017.

Back in April 2017, just three months before he’d be found dead of a suspected suicide in Southern California, Bennington recorded a song with Morton for the album. He was excited about it, as he posted to his Twitter page around that time:

Listen to the song below:

The song showcases Bennington’s powerful vocal abilities, whether singing, screaming or shouting. It’s significantly different in feel and tone than Linkin Park’s One More Light album, which was a decidedly pop-oriented effort from the band that marked Bennington’s final album with the group.

Via the press release announcing the album, Anesthetic finds Morton working with a host of special guests worth noting:

Singers on the album include Chester Bennington, Randy Blythe, Jacoby Shaddix, Myles Kennedy, Alissa White-Gluz, Mark Lanegan, Chuck Billy, Jake Oni, Josh Todd, Mark Morales and Naeemah Maddox. Musically, Morton performs all guitars, with Roy Mayorga, David Ellefson, Ray Luzier, Paulo Gregoletto and Alex Bent, Mike Inez, Jean-Paul Gaster, Steve Gorman and Marc Paul rounding out the band.
