2019’s shaping up to be a big year for Stevie Nicks, as the singer/music icon will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this spring, cementing her place as a legend for her work with Fleetwood Mac and as a hugely successful solo act.
It’s that work with Fleetwood Mac, however, that has inspired an online petition that has been gaining traction this week. The aim of the online campaign, put together by a fan on Facebook, is to get Nicks to work one shift at a McDonald’s restaurant in Fleetwood, a town in Lancashire, England.
It’s pretty amusing, really, filled with puns like “sell me fries, sell me sweet little fries” and other inspired riffs on classic Nicks-related songs.
What’s more, a McDonald’s spokesperson has weighed in, quoted by the NME as saying:
“We’ve heard some rumours that Stevie Nicks might be keen to visit our own Fleetwood Macs. Next time she’s in the area we’d be delighted to welcome her for some sweet little fries before she goes her own way…”
Does this have a chance of happening? Probably not, let’s be honest — but it’d be amazing if it did, right?
