Carlos Santana Joins Concord Records; ‘In Search of Mona Lisa’ EP Coming 1/25

On January 25, Santana will release a new EP titled In Search of Mona Lisa. It’ll be the first for Carlos with his new label home, Concord Records.

In 2017, Santana teamed up with his wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, and the Isley Brothers for their collaborative album The Power of Peace (read our in-depth feature interview here) — making In Search of Mona Lisa the follow-up to that title and another addition to his vast catalog of music.

As Santana’s official site details, the EP features three “spellbinding” new songs inspired by Santana’s a visit to the Louvre Museum and, specifically, the Mona Lisa itself:

In all of the years that the guitar icon had visited Paris, he had never been to the Louvre, but on a recent day off while on tour, he decided to go to the museum with his wife, drummer Cindy Blackman Santana, and his family. All it took was one look into the implacable eyes of the Mona Lisa for Santana to feel as though something strange and powerful was taking place.

The EP’s track listing (pre-order a copy now at this link):

“Do You Remember Me”
“In Search of Mona Lisa”
“Lovers From Another Time”
“Do You Remember Me” (Edit Version)
“In Search of Mona Lisa” (Edit Version)

2019 will be a big year for Santana, who will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of 1999’s hugely successful album Supernatural with a special tour, leading up to the release of his new studio album produced by Rick Rubin, which will be out sometime in the summer.
