It’s been a big week for The Cure. On Thursday, the long-running English band fronted by Robert Smith were officially named inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — and, in an interview with SiriusXM after the news broke, Smith revealed some more news.
The Cure will release a new album in 2019. It will be their first since 2008’s 4:13 Dream, and will be their 14th full-length studio album to date. Here’s the SiriusXM interview:
Smith says he and his band mates will be heading back into the studio to finish up working on the new material.
This is no doubt exciting news for fans of the band. Here’s hoping it also means tour news is on the way, as well!
