Gordon Lightfoot Announces ’80 Years Strong’ U.S. Tour for 2019

Revered singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, who’s earned the admiration of peers including Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and many others, celebrated his 80th birthday on Nov. 17, but he’s not entertaining any thoughts of winding down and relaxing — and in early 2019, he’ll head out on a quick tour of the western United States.

Dubbed the “80 Years Strong” tour (a perfect name, really), Lightfoot and his band will visit 10 cities for 11 shows in March. The schedule:

3/4 Crest Theatre Sacramento CA
3/5 City National Civic San Jose, CA
3/6 Luther Burbank Center for the Arts Santa Rosa, CA
3/8 The Canyon Santa Clarita, CA
3/9 Saban Theater Beverly Hills, CA
3/10 The Rose Pasadena, CA
3/12 The Grove of Anaheim Anaheim, CA
3/13 Balboa Theatre San Diego, CA
3/15 & 16 Westgate Resort & Casino Las Vegas, NV
3/17 Celebrity Theatre Phoenix, AZ

“We love to work while the sun shines,” said Lightfoot in a statement with the news. “Because the night will come when you may no longer work – that was from Dylan. I love doin’ the shows. The ship of state is still afloat and I’ve still got the vocal – and the desire.”
