Hootie & the Blowfish Announce Summer 2019 Tour with Barenaked Ladies; Both Bands Working on New Albums

Before he was a chart-smashing country solo star, Darius Rucker fronted the 1990s alt/pop band Hootie & the Blowfish — and now the group has aims at a new album and, as announced on Monday, a big Summer 2019 tour with fellow ’90s hitmakers Barenaked Ladies.

Titled the Group Therapy tour, the 44-city tour comes as both bands are working on new material. For the Blowfish, it’ll be their first since 2005’s Looking for Lucky and is scheduled for release in 2019, 25 years after their huge debut 1994 record Cracked Rear View, which was led by mega-hits like “Hold My Hand”:

As for Barenaked Ladies, their most recent album was 2017’s Fake Nudes, and they’re already back at work on the next one — which will be the band’s 15th.
