Watch Smashing Pumpkins’ Halloween-Themed (and Mark McGrath-Starring) New Video for ‘Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)’

On Nov. 26, the reunited Smashing Pumpkins will release a new album, Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1/LP No Past. No Future. No Sun, coming shortly after their generally well-received and marathon Shiny and Oh So Bright reunion tour.

At first, the tour itself seemed rather surprising, given the tumultuous history between the band members over the years, but it went off without a hitch — and apparently they were so invigorated by the experience they found time to record some new material, the first from Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin together since 2000’s Machina/The Machines of God.

The first song released from the new album, “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” now has a corresponding music video directed by Corgan, and it’s … timed perfectly for Halloween. Featuring the band in a haunted house setting — led by an irreverent host played by Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, who also starred in video segments on the recent tour (yes, really) — it’s a quirky little clip:

The new album was produced by Rick Rubin and can be pre-ordered now at this link. The track listing:

1. “Knights of Malta”
2. “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)”
3. “Travels”
4. “Solara”
5. “Alienation”
6. “Marchin’ On”
7. “With Sympathy”
8. “Seek And You Shall Destroy”
