The ‘graveyard shift’ is so named because it’s no fun. Staying up all night and being unable to sleep is rough on anybody — but the security guards of the world do it, because, well, somebody has to. In the new video from Paul McCartney for “Come On to Me,” off Macca‘s recent No. 1 album Egypt Station, concerns itself with the adventures of a department store security guard, portrayed with abundant energy by Fred “Little Freddie” Maxwell.
Fred, you see, was about to doze off at his station because it’s the middle of the night and the graveyard shift is a tough assignment. Instead, he pressed ‘Play’ on his phone and started jamming out to “Come On to Me.” And we mean really jamming out:
