For a while now, the Internet has begged Weezer to cover “Africa,” the beloved song by Toto that’s taken on a new life in our new social media era.
Thanks to Rivers Cuomo and his band mates, it happened …. and it’s great:
This comes on the heels of Weezer also covering Toto’s “Rosanna,” as they’re pleasing everybody these days:
Steve Lukather himself digs Weezer’s treatment of “Rosanna,” for what it’s worth:
Very flattered and thanks Weezer.
We recorded this -2nd take NO rehearsal in 1981.
Not that anyone cares.. hahaha.
We were kids. Lived in the studio working on our stuff and every session in LA. Best times ever! Hope we meet someday.
Unless you hate us. hahaha
