Earlier in the week, Frightened Rabbit guitarist/vocalist Scott Hutchison went missing, prompting the Scottish band to post on social media about his disappearance in hopes of finding him.
On Friday, the band announced the unfortunate news that he has since passed away.

The band had just released a new album, Painting of a Panic Attack, in 2016.
Here’s a recent studio session with the band and the AV Club:
Hutchison’s passing is just the latest tragic reminder of how fragile life is — and, also, the devastating effects mental health issues can have on a person. Just this last year, now, the rock world has lost Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell and now Hutchison — among others — whose personal struggles were just too painful to overcome.
And in each case, the artist channeled his personal demons into his songs, using the catharsis of music as means of self-care.
May Hutchison rest in peace, and may we continue to have a meaningful conversation about mental health.
