Fully Reunited, A Flock of Seagulls Readying New LP ‘Ascension,’ with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra

Think back to the 1980s and all the music, styles, and hairstyles of the era. No doubt, A Flock of Seagulls came to mind, right?

It’s been quite some time since the band’s original lineup recorded music together, but on June 29 a new album will be released featuring, for the first time together since 1984, Mike Score (vocals/keyboards), Paul Reynolds (guitar), Frank Maudsley (bass) and Ali Score (drums).

The band never officially “broke up,” as Mike Score continued touring and performing with a host of other musicians in recent years — but this is the first time in more than three decades that the original lineup was in the studio together.

Titled Ascension, the compilation was recorded in various studios around the world and will feature musical accompaniment by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Ascension track listing:

  1. “I Ran”
  2. “Modern Love is Automatic”
  3. “Telecommunication”
  4. “Space Age Love Song”
  5. “Ascension”
  6. “Wishing (I Had a Photograph of You)”
  7. “Nightmares”
  8. “DNA”
  9. “Electrics”
  10. “Transfer Affection”

Stay tuned for more…

I loved them in the 80’s when I was serving in the US Air Force in Charleston, SC, and I still love them today. Their music along with Tears For Fears , Petshop Boys and other British Pop groups carry me back to the 80’s. Great times
