Said longtime guitarist Steve Howe of the tour:

“Much has changed since I joined Yes in 1970, but the core elements of the band have remained consistent. We want to mark this anniversary with a tour that encompasses some of our best-loved work and revisit a few classic pieces that have been lost for a while. We look forward to sharing the 50th anniversary with the fanbase, playing classic songs that celebrate the broad musical style of Yes.”

White adds:

“I have been blessed to be a member of this amazing band’s rhythm section for the past 46 years, mostly in the company of my great friend Chris Squire, and latterly alongside Chris’ chosen successor, Billy Sherwood, who is receiving recognition for stepping into Chris’ pre-eminent bass and vocals. Each night we are pausing to reflect on Chris’ importance to Yes, his desire that we should continue to share Yes music on stages worldwide, and the specific dedication of ‘Onward’ to his huge memory. I’m so grateful to continue to be performing on stages for our dedicated fans and look forward to celebrating our 50th Anniversary in America.  It has been a great ride!”

Be sure to catch a show!

Congratulations to YES!! I have been a fan since the late 60’s! My favorite group of all time! I have followed YES through different changes in band members. Every tour, we would see the show! In 1999, my wife & I saw YES 3 times in a month! I live in Monroe MI. They toured at the Royal Oak Music Theatre, Royal Oak, MI, (our all time favorite concert) then on to the Seagate Center in Toledo, OH & then the Soar Eagle Casino. My Pleasant, MI & there we met the band members after the show & the next day. First we met Billy Sherwood & Igor Khoroshev at the Steakhouse Restaurant. We told them how we grew up listening to YES and their response was “ we did too!” They were very kind considering we invaded their privacy before their meals had come. They signed their autographs for us. We stayed the night at the casino hotel & so did the band. I always get up really early to go have a cigarette. I was sitting on a bench outside a store & Billy came & sat down next to me. I was surprised! He asked if I had a light? Billy remembered me from the night before & we chatted a bit. I went back to my room & my wife Tina & I went to breakfast. As we were leaving the restaurant, Steve how walks in. We said hi & asked for his autograph. He must have just woken up, it was about 7:30 am. He said “it’s bloody early in the morning!” but he gave us his autograph. We roamed the hallways. We saw Billy again in the hallway, drinking coffee. When he left, we asked the waitress if we could have his coffee cup for a souvenir & she said yes. We figured out where we thought they would all check out. It was by the Water Lily. I peaked inside & Alan White was sitting at the bar. I sat next to him & bought him a beer. I asked for his autograph & he generously gave it to me & we talked a while just about our families & life in general. I asked for his bottle after he had left. Tina came in & told me Jon & Janie we’re checking out. Jon had an ora that I just can’t explain. He kindly shook my hand. We chatted for a few minutes & I asked for both his & Janie’s autograph. She was surprised! But she is a singer in her own right & also sang on one of Jon’s solo songs Earth Mother Earth. And finally, Chris Squire came out! Someone commented on Chris always being the last one. Chris has always been known as the Doctor of Guitars, so I approached him and said “hey doctor, will you write me a prescription?” He laughed & asked what should he write it for & I said just your autograph will do! He went out the door laughing! They all were gone! It’s a wonderful memory. Since then, we also saw ARW at the Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, MI. I met, spoke with & got the autographs of Rick Wakeman & Trevor Rabin. All the members of YES that I have met are very kind men & always had time for their fans!! Congratulations to YES for 50 wonderful years of music! And thank you for it!!
