Stream the Blistering Title Track from Pennywise’s New Album ‘Never Gonna Die,’ Out 4/20

Southern California punk icons Pennywise are back in the saddle once again, so to speak — and on April 20, they’ll release Never Gonna Die. It’ll be the band’s first studio album of new material since 2012’s All or Nothing and the first with original vocalist Jim Lindberg since 2008’s Reason to Believe.

Announced on Tuesday, the news came with the premiere of the album’s lead single, a particularly blistering and high-energy track:

According to Lindberg, the song’s goal is to challenge “the seemingly immortal practice of handing down our ancient biases, prejudice, and religious dogma from each generation to the next,” he said in a statement.

“The goal of the song is to try and get young people to finally say enough, and that the system isn’t working,” Lindberg adds. “It’s going to take a massive evolutionary shift in consciousness to change it, starting with the youth, because unless we do, we’ll just have more of the same carnage we’ve seen happening all over the world reincarnated with every new generation.”

Pre-orders for Never Gonna Die are up at the band’s official site.
