Eager to start off 2018 on a high note, the legendary Paul McCartney revealed some intriguing information in a recent Q&A on his official website. Namely, that he’s nearing completion on a new studio album, which would be his first since 2013’s New.
Here’s his answer to the question of what he’d like to achieve in the new year:
Paul: “I’ll probably be putting out a new album. So, I’d like that to be something I really love and then hopefully the fans will love it too! We’re putting the finishing touches to it now and at the beginning of next year. So, I would like to achieve making that a really great album. Fingers crossed! That’s not what it’s called, but fingers crossed! [Pauses] It could be… it COULD be the new album title!”

This alluring news comes after McCartney turned up as a secret guest on the Foo Fighters’ 2017 album Concrete & Gold, playing drums on the track “Sunday Rain” (Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins manned vocal duties):
Macca also spent much of the past couple of years on the road on his extended Out There and One On One world tours, as he’s still one of the hardest-working entertainers around. Once his new album is out, it’ll follow on the heels of old pal Ringo Starr’s latest solo venture, Give More Love, which was released in September and features several high-profile special guests … including Sir Paul.
Stay tuned to see what McCartney has up his sleeves this year!
