Neil Young Releasing New Album ‘The Visitor’ and Free Online Music Archive on Dec. 1

Whether with new music or endeavors into other areas of focus, Neil Young is tireless when it comes to his work ethic. And that will continue on Dec. 1, when he releases a new album, The Visitor, which he worked on with the Promise of the Real (featuring Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson).

Just as Young attempted with his portable music experience, Pono, he’s also planning to open up a massive online archive of his own recorded music on that same day, available in exceptionally high quality. As he detailed in a Facebook post:

Hi there,
December 1st will be a big day for me. The Visitor will be coming to your town. I will be going to my town. You will be able to hear me and see me. My archive will open on that same day, a place you can visit and experience every song I have ever released in the highest quality your machine will allow. It’s the way it’s supposed to be. In the beginning, everything is free.
Lots of Love,
neil

As for his new record, The Visitor, Young previewed it with a stream of the opening track, “Already Great”:

The album’s track listing:

1. “Already Great”
2. “Fly By Night Deal”
3. “Almost Always”
4. “Stand Tall”
5. “Change of Heart”
6. “Carnival”
7. “Diggin’ a Hole”
8. “Children of Destiny”
9.” When Bad Got Good”
10. “Forever”
