Steve Howe of Yes Premieres Video for ‘Leaving Aurora’ as a Tribute to His Late Son, Virgil

This Friday, Nov. 17, Steve Howe of Yes will release Nexus, a collaborative album he wrote and recorded with his son, Virgil — who passed away unexpectedly in early September.

Howe, Yes’ longtime guitarist, announced that the release of Nexus would go on as planned, as a tribute to his son’s gifts as a musician:

‘Nexus’ explores a completely different side of Virgil’s ability, as a writer & keyboard player – ‘in his own right’. His talents were multi-diverse, so sitting at a keyboard & computer or in the middle of his drum kit, at all his regular DJ-ing gigs or on the radio, he always gave his best. We hope that the music just completed will stand as a fitting tribute to his life and legacy.

And on Tuesday, a video was premiered for a song from the album called “Leaving Aurora.” The video also pays tribute to Virgil, who was taken far too young at just 41 years of age. Watch the video below:

It was a bit difficult to watch, knowing Virgil is gone. But, like Ricky said, it is beautiful music….very soothing. Thank you, Steve and Virgil.
