Krist Novoselic, perhaps best known as the bassist for Nirvana in addition to being an outspoken environmental/political activist in his home state of Washington, has a new band.
As Rolling Stone profiled on Monday, Novoselic and the project, Giants in the Trees, also features Jillian Raye (vocals/banjo), Ray Prestegard (guitar) and Erik Friend (drums). In their debut music video for “Sasquatch,” the quartet are seen wandering around the woods in what turns out to be a pretty relaxing clip. And musically, its lo-fi feel makes for a pleasant sound, as well:
