The tour, announced on Monday, will bring the two iconic acts (and their many hits) to major cities between June 15 and August 13.
Said Frampton about the tour:
“Steve Miller was in a recording studio vocal booth stacking incredible harmonies the first time we met in London, circa 1970,” Frampton explains. “From that moment on I have been a huge admirer of his multiple talents: singing, writing and of course his amazing guitar playing. Steve has already asked if I will come and jam on a few tunes during his set. ‘YES PLEASE!’ was my very quick answer! Music is all about having fun and playing from the heart. I can guarantee you much fun will be had by all on this tour.”
“Peter and I first met at Olympic Studios in London in the late sixties when we were both just starting our recording careers. He was a wonderful guitarist and songwriter then and even more so today. Over the years we’ve played together in venues from theatres to football stadiums and everything in between. He always sets the musical bar high, his band always knocks me out and I’m thrilled we are going to spend the summer together doing a great run of concerts. This is the kind of quality and talent we both strive to present and I’m looking forward to a summer of great music, exceptional performances and fun. Peter is remarkable musician.”
Frampton’s most recent release, Acoustic Classics, was very well-receive and, to add more cause for celebration, 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of his landmark Frampton Comes Alive! release. Here’s the full slate of dates for this tour with the Steve Miller Band:
