A loud, aggressive, in-your-face collection of songs with titles heavily leaning on themes of death, 13 Voices is a strong return to form for the band, which welcomed longtime guitarist Dave Baksh back into the mix for the new material.
Whibley, who dealt with battles with alcoholism that nearly claimed his life in recent years, has been to the edge and back, and the music on 13 Voices showcases a man that’s done what he’s done and seen what he’s seen — and also adds some great songs to the band’s canon, which began in a major level with 2001’s All Killer, No Filler.
