‘Stand By Me’ Singer Ben E. King Dies at 76 – R.I.P.

Legendary R&B musician Ben E. King, perhaps best known for his Top 5 hit Stand By Me (which has become something of a classic song now) has died at 76, it was announced on Friday morning.

His publicist told BBC News that King passed on Thursday.

In addition to achieving solo success with Stand By Me, King was also a part of the Drifters, with whom he began his career singing some of their hits such as Save the Last Dance for Me and There Goes My Baby.
