Last week, ex-Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher announced a new studio album under the name Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds — Who Built the Moon? will be released on November 24.
On Monday, Gallagher premiered a single from the record, and it’s somewhat surprising. Titled “Holy Mountain,” the tune is a charging, up-tempo anthem with Noel’s pal and frequent collaborator Paul Weller on organ. Stream the song below:
Who Built the Moon? comes on the heels of two solid albums from Gallagher in his post-Oasis career, with 2015’s Chasing Yesterday the focus of a candid interview conducted with Rock Cellar that you can read at this link.
And we’d be remiss to not point out that Noel’s brother, Liam Gallagher, just released his debut solo album As You Were last week — and it’s a pretty strong listen. How will Noel’s follow suit? Let’s wait and see.
Pre-orders for Who Built the Moon? are up at Noel’s site — visit this link for more, including details about his upcoming North American tour dates, too.
