In 1977, Television released its debut album, Marquee Moon, a record that put the band on the map in the competitive New York music scene. In the decades since, its profile continued to rise to where it is today, one of the most highly regarded of its era.
Listening to the dynamic, innovative record today, it’s obvious just now influential Television’s sound was at the time.
This fall, the band — Tom Verlaine, Billy Ficca, Fred Smith and Jimmy Rip — have a handful of West Coast tour dates on the schedule, and needless to say they’re of the can’t-miss variety. The dates:
Sept. 24 — Portland, Or. — Aladdin Theater
Sept. 25 — Seattle, WA — Neptune
Sept. 27 — Sonoma, CA — Gundlach Bundschu Winery: Old Redwood Barn
Sept. 29 — Los Angeles, CA — Teragram Ballroom
Sept. 30 — Los Angeles, CA — Teragram Ballroom
