Over the weekend, the Foo Fighters added a musician to the band – a second drummer! Or third, if you count Dave. But during their set at a festival in Iceland, Grohl introduced his 8-year-old daughter, Harper Grohl, who he said had expressed an interest in following her dad’s footsteps behind the kit.
The exchange, as Grohl recalled:
“She said, ‘Daddy. I want to play the drums.’
So I asked, ‘Do you want me to teach you?’
And I said, ‘Do you want to get up in front of 20,000 people in Iceland and play?’
And she said, ‘Yes.'”
Harper then climbed up behind Taylor Hawkins’ drum kit to lead the charge on Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” with Hawkins providing some percussive support of course. It was fun:
Watch out world, another Grohl’s coming.
In addition to the fun seen above, the Foos also played a handful of new songs. Here’s the live debut of their new single, “Run”:
And here’s the full band live debut of “The Sky is a Neighborhood”:
Finally, here’s another new song with the running title “Lah Di Da”:
All this new music from the Foo Fighters must mean an album is right around the corner, right? Wait and see…
