Papa Roach’s New Album ‘Crooked Teeth’ is a Testament to the Band’s Resilience – Listen

Written by: Rock Cellar Magazine Staff

Back in 2000, would you have possibly imagined that Papa Roach would still be releasing records more than 15 years later?

Well, it’s 2017 and they are. On Friday, the band released Crooked Teeth, their ninth full-length to date. It’s been a long time since 2000’s Infest spread Papa Roach to the masses, thanks to the explosive and impossible-to-forget lead single “Last Resort.”

And while the band’s sound back then may have catered to the scene, as it were, with “nu-metal” charges at every turn and front man Jacoby Shaddix rapping along with them, they’ve shifted gears throughout the years after. Crooked Teeth, then, finds them blending styles throughout, from the noisy garage punk of the title track to the radio-friendly infectiousness of lead single “Help” and beyond.

Guest spots from Skylar Grey (“Persicope”) and Machine Gun Kelly (“Sunrise Trailer Park”) add in some additional curveballs throughout the record.
