Paramore Premiere ‘Told You So,’ Another Shimmery Indie-Pop Gem from their New Record ‘After Laughter’

Paramore returned recently with “Hard Times,” a song (and accompanying music video) from their new album, After Laughter, which will be out on May 12 via Fueled By Ramen. The song was a totally retro-styled indie/pop anthem led by vocalist Hayley Williams that marked some new territory for the band.

On Wednesday, the band premiered a video for a song called “Told You So,” and it definitely feels like a follow-up to “Hard Times,” given that it, too, features jangly guitars and an overall aesthetic feel indicating that this might be something the band explores throughout After Laughter. Watch the video, which was co-directed by drummer Zac Farro:

To put things another way – Williams is currently using an image of Blondie’s Debbie Harry as her Twitter profile cover photo, and it wouldn’t be far-fetched to imagine Harry appreciating Paramore’s new direction…as After Laughter definitely sounds like it’ll be an intriguing listen for the band as their fifth studio album. Here’s the track listing:

1. “Hard Times

2. “Rose-Colored Boy”

3. “Told You So”

4. “Forgiveness”

5. “Fake Happy”

6. “26”

7. “Pool”

8. “Grudges”

9. “Caught in the Middle”

10. “Idle Worship”

11. “No Friend”
