ARW Change Name to ‘Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman,’ North American Tour Detailed

Written by: Rock Cellar Magazine Staff

The group previously known as ARW has a new name — and it’s Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman.

The news was revealed on Monday, along with the following explanation posted as a press release at the band’s official site:

ROCK ICONS JON ANDERSON, TREVOR RABIN AND RICK WAKEMAN ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY,THEY WILL OFFICIALLY BE KNOWN AS ‘YES FEATURING JON ANDERSON, TREVOR RABIN, RICK WAKEMAN’, WHICH IS THE NAME THEY WILL BE TOURING UNDER IN NORTH AMERICA DURING THE LATTER HALF OF 2017.

“IT’S VERY SIMPLE,’ EXPLAINS BAND FOUNDER AND VOCALIST JON ANDERSON. “THE FANS WANT IT, WE WANT IT AND IT’S OUR RIGHT TO USE THE NAME. YES MUSIC IS IN OUR DNA!”

THE DEFINITIVE LINE-UP OF THE GREATEST PROGRESSIVE ROCK BAND EVER – JON ANDERSON, TREVOR RABIN, RICK WAKEMAN – TOGETHER AGAIN LIVE!

Anderson, Rabin, and Wakeman were part of the group of musicians inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame over the weekend as part of Yes (along with Steve Howe, Tony Kaye, Alan White, Bill Brufrod and the late Chris Squire), though there are quite clearly now two separate groups using the Yes name. The group featuring Steve Howe recently announced a summer tour with Todd Rundgren and Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy.

In the wake of Monday’s news, the following statement was released by Yes’ press representatives about potential confusion that might go along with having two separate touring entities involving the Yes name:

“While Jon Anderson has rights to use the name as one of the co-owners of the trademark, Yes’ position is that every effort should be made by promoters, ticket agencies and all involved to respect Yes’ magnificent and loyal fanbase and minimize confusion regarding the use of Yes Featuring Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman.”

The members of the actual Yes have a much longer tenure in Yes, collectively, compared to ARW. Do the math. It proves that ARW is the fake Yes.
