Say Hello to Senator: Watch the Haunting New Video for ‘Lost Again’ (Premiere)

The nicknames we’re given in our formative years can grow to define us. Such is the case for Howard Baker, a musician from Austin, TX who was referred to as Senator during high school.

It’s under that name that Baker will release his debut EP, Tiny Monsters, on March 10. Calling to mind the music of artists such as Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley and Baker’s own stated influences Kurt Cobain and Beck, the music on Tiny Monsters is so engaging, so engrossing that it doesn’t seem far-fetched to imagine his profile growing exponentially as the year moves along.

Below, enjoy an exclusive premiere of the music video for “Lost Again,” which is set in the woods and perfectly captures the quandaries that life’s struggles can provide on a daily basis:

Of the song, Baker has this to say:

I think this video gives a great visual of the theme of “Lost Again.” The inner struggle of whether to run away and avoid life, or to choose to face it head on. It’s the first project I’ve done that I really can’t take credit for. The concept and direction of the video did not come from me but it was cool to see how other people interpreted my music and what they took away from the song. It was a great experience and I’m very happy with it.

Keep in touch with Senator by visiting the project’s official site — and stay tuned, as mentioned before 2017 could be a big year for him.
