As previously mentioned, the Replacements have plans to release a reunion EP called Songs for Slim sometime in 2013.

UPDATE 1/15- The Songs for Slim auctions are currently LIVE – click here for details (but remember to bring your checkbooks!)

The four-song set is to honor the memory of Slim Dunlap, former Replacements guitarist suffered a rather severe stroke back in February.

The vinyl-only Songs for Slim EP was designed as a way to help raise money to alleviate some of the financial burden placed upon Dunlap’s family as a result of his medical expenses.

Within the past 48 hours, the Replacements have lifted the lid on a bit of the details surrounding Songs for Slim, revealing a new Facebook page and official website (and the artwork, as seen above) – as discovered by Slicing Up Eyeballs. Little else has yet been announced regarding the project (other than some track titles via Facebook), or if Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson have any further plans in terms of a reunion.

Update: Here’s Songs for Slim‘s track listing:

1. Busted Up
2. Radio Hook Word Hit
3. I’m Not Saying
4. Lost Highway
5. Everything’s Coming Up Roses

Apparently, 250 limited edition copies of the EP will be auctioned off sometime around January 15th, before hitting traditional outlets sometime later.

Stay tuned for any more developments.
