An elaborate vinyl box set chronicling nine of Black Sabbath’s most-appreciated albums (tailor-made for band completists) will be released on December 12th.
One year on from the band’s momentous 11.11.11 reunion announcement, ‘The Vinyl Collection: 1970-1978’ celebrates the might of the all-conquering original Black Sabbath line-up combining the complete Ozzy-era studio albums re-mastered from the band’s personal archives, and encased in a mighty box set package.
Albums included: Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970), Master of Reality (1971), Black Sabbath Vol. 4 (1972), Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973), Sabotage (1975), Technical Ecstasy (1976), Never Say Die! (1978), & Live at Last (1980).
In addition to the re-issued albums, the set will also come with a 7″ replica of the band’s debut single Evil Woman and b-side Wicked World, a hard-backed book featuring replica programs from the band’s 1970s tours, a digital download card and a limited-edition 12″x 12″ print of the box design (as seen atop this article).
Update: Here’s an official “unboxing” trailer for the box set:
Rock Cellar Magazine will be carrying this set in our NEW RECORD STORE. Stay tuned.
