On June 5th, perennially bearded classic rock legends ZZ Top will release Texicali, a 4-song E.P. that will serve as a preview for the band’s still-unannounced new studio record.

The songs are called Chartreuse, Over You, Consumption and I Gotsta Get Paid, which is acting as the mini-set’s single.  Have a listen…

In a statement, ZZ Top front man Billy Gibbons explained releasing the E.P.:

Dusty, Frank and I are happy with what’s been accomplished in the studio so we figured we’d provide some hot and tasty ‘hors d’oeuvres’ before the main course is served.

To further sweeten the deal, fans who purchase Texicali will receive a discount on the forthcoming album, which is tentatively expected sometime in late summer or early fall 2012.
