No Doubt released the first in-studio webisode this morning, chronicling part of the recording process of their new album (which was just officially announced on Friday).
In this clip, which you can view below, the band offers snippets of a new track called Push & Shove, which is the first bit of new material released by them in a few years.
The song is a collaboration between No Doubt and producers Major Lazer and Jamaican musician Busy Signal. Judging by the clip, it calls to mind the band’s hit Hey Baby, with its dancehall flavor. The band’s site says there will be more studio webisodes released in the near future:
Over the past few months, Gwen, Tony, Tom and Adrian have been recording together and filming the process at producer Spike Stent’s studio in Santa Monica, California.
Enjoy a sample of new No Doubt in the clip below.
UPDATE:
The band released another in-studio clip, this time chronicling their use of horns, which should be good news to fans of the band’s older sound. In particular, Stefani is quoted as saying she was “surprised” at how many of the new songs employ a brass section. check it:
