As we tipped you before, Alanis Morissette is gearing up to release a new album, her first in four years.

Titled Havoc and Bright Lights, the album will be released on August 28th.

On this new material, Alanis employed the help of Guy Sigsworth, a British producer that has worked previously with artists such as Seal, Madonna, Britney Spears and Bjork, and Joe Chiccarelli, responsible for some of the success found by acts like Jason Mraz, Frank Zappa, The Shins and The Strokes.

Havoc and Bright Lights’ first single, Guardian, will be made available May 15th. Here’s an advance listen…

Said Morissette of the album: This record, as always, is a snapshot of what I currently obsess about, care about, and what strikes me at 4 in the morning in my most introspective moments,” Morissette said in a statement. “It is my emotional, psychological, social and philosophical commentary through song.
