Just days before his induction into the 2012 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, legendary singer-songwriter Donovan gave a deep and insightful interview to Rock Cellar Magazine in their new online issue.
Greg Feo and editor Jeff Cazanov of Rock Cellar got perhaps the longest and most interesting interview of the year with Donovan, who has been on a whirlwind publicity tour since his induction was announced.
Donovan details many of the highlights of his 5-decade career, talks about his place in music history and his influence on the resurgent “folk-rock” movement, and breaks down the songwriting process.
In Donovan reveals many new stories about his days traveling and working with The Beatles including their 1968 trip to Rishikesh India to learn mediation with the Maharishi. He also explains the influence that Transcendental Meditation has had on his musical and personal life as he continues spreading the message with director David Lynch’s foundation.
