Ain’t it a hoot. Fresh off their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will release We Salute You, an EP of covers, on May 1 via their website.
A tribute to fellow Rock Hall inductees, the EP features 6 songs that were originally penned by fellow rock royalty. The track list:

Search & Destroy (Iggy and the Stooges)
Everybody Knows This is Nowhere (Neil Young) [live]

Three of the tracks are live recordings, and five of them have not previously been released by the band. This will be the second EP released by the RHCP in 2012, after a collection of songs recorded on their current tour came out last month.
