Chad Smith, drummer for Red Hot Chili Peppers, first heard of Knebworth Park, England when Led Zeppelin played there in 1979.

It goes without saying he and the Peppers are pretty excited to finally be performing at the massive open-air venue themselves on June 23rd.

125,000 or more can see a show at Knebworth – The Stately Home of Rock, and countless legendary bands have been fortunate enough to play there.

Smith:  “Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Stones and Queen and The Who – I grew up listening to all of them,” Smith told the UK’s Daily Star. “To go on over, to be accepted where these guys play blows our minds. It’s like a bucket list kinda thing, we can tick that one off.”

What would tip the scales, then, push the evening over into uncharted territory? Maybe a certain legend could lend a hand to bring it full circle.

Jimmy Page has come to our shows before but we haven’t had a chance to play with him. That would be really cool so maybe that can happen. Maybe we can get Page to come out to Knebworth. — Chad Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers

Hey, Jimmy, you hear this? Why not make some dreams come true…?
