Last night, Fiona Apple delivered her first live performance outside Los Angeles in a few years, playing a showcase in Austin, Texas at South By Southwest.
Highlights of her set included two new songs, Anything We Want and Every Single Night, stripped-down new songs that benefited from Apple’s backing band of musicians. Check out both performances below (video and photo courtesy of Antiquiet).
Every Single Night
As previously discussed, Apple recently announced a new album, The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do, that is expected to be released in June.
By all accounts from SXSW, her performance was powerful and engaging – hopefully a good sign that she’ll perform a bit more as she promotes the new album.
