John Mayer has announced details for a new album, which will be released on Columbia Records on May 22.

Titled Born & Raised, the album’s completion was halted last year as Mayer battled throat issues, but now the record is back on track.

Born & Raised was produced by Mayer and Don Was, and the album’s title track will feature David Crosby and Graham Nash.

In addition to the album information, Mayer also released the first single, Shadow Days, which you can hear below.

This record will be the follow-up to 2009′s Battle Studies, and judging by the artwork and single, Mayer could be headed in a more country-western style with this upcoming release.
