On April 20th, the first officially-sanctioned documentary film about the life and legacy of reggae icon Bob Marley will be released.

Simply titled Marley, the doc was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Kevin MacDonald.  The tribute includes interviews with family and friends, historical concert footage, rare recordings, and details on the singer’s connection to Jamaican politics. It is sure to offer new insight to one of music’s most influential talents.

In the movie’s own words:

MARLEY is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best.
